SnapLingo
A camera-first vocabulary app for iOS and Android — snap any object and learn the word in 25+ languages, with pronunciation, examples, and mini-games.
SnapLingo is a camera-first language-learning app I’m building for iOS and Android. Point your phone at anything — a mug, a plant, your dog — snap it, and instantly learn the word in your target language, complete with pronunciation, an example sentence, and mini-games built from the words you capture.
- Site: SnapLingo — snaplingoapp.com
- Status: In development · test program open
- Platforms: iOS and Android
- Learn in 25+ languages, from Spanish and Japanese to Hindi and Arabic
- Every word comes from something you actually photographed, so it sticks longer than a flashcard deck
Under the hood it’s Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform — one shared codebase across iOS and Android — with a Firebase + AI backend that recognises the object in your photo and generates the vocabulary. The marketing and test-signup site is a neubrutalist landing page built to match the app’s own design system.
